Manitoba’s Top 75 Companies/50 Fastest-Growing Companies
Manitoba Business Magazine is the leading source of business news in Manitoba. Their flagship magazine editions are the Top 75 Companies Survey and the
50 Fastest-Growing Companies Survey. HED has once again been recognized in both categories.

The 2009 Top 75 Companies Survey ranks businesses based on the 2008 year end financials, present gross sales as well as interesting performance commentary incorporated in Manitoba.

HED is proud to have ranked number 49 in the Manitoba Business Magazine’s
Top 75 Companies Survey in 2009 and number 25 in the Manitoba Business Magazine’s 50 Fastest-Growing Companies Survey in 2009.

Manitoba's Top 25 Employers
For the fourth year in a row, HED has been named a top employer in Manitoba. This award is in recognition of HED’s successful practices to recruit and retain employees. Our continued proactive commitment to keeping current our human resources policies and procedures, technology tools as well as work practices including providing our employees with unparalleled career opportunities, have all afforded the company with a reputation to attract and retain good people.

2008 Supplier of the Year
The Canadian Rental Association (CRA) BC Local members have presented HED Insurance with their "2008 Supplier of the Year" award. CRA BC Director Peggy Daniel said that the members really appreciated the service and support provided by HED and specifically by Ken Fingler, Steve Baker, Jeff Wallace and the HED Winnipeg service staff.

United Way Corporate Pacesetters / Bronze Builder of Distinction
HED was recognized as a Corporate Pacesetter and a Bronze Corporate Community Builder of Distinction for their support to the 2008 United Way Winnipeg Campaign.

LANSA Review
HED has been featured in the December 2007 issue of the LANSA Review,
which includes a case study of our company and how we used LANSA
Software to create a solution for business success. The Information Technology
& Business Systems department at HED developed the new LANSA based
Insurance Management System and Customer Relationship Management
(IMS-CRM) system to keep track of all prospect and customer activity. “By
providing a flexible CRM solution to our users and real-time system
integration, we have reduced application complexity and improved the
efficiency of business procedures,” says Brian Hynes, Vice President, Information Technology & Business Systems.

Best in Business Practices Award
HED is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Manitoba Business Magazine Best in Business Practices award. The award was presented to Art Elias, President and CEO, at the 20th Annual Entrepreneur of the Year and Best in Business Practices Awards Banquet held on May 31, 2007. According to Ritchie Gage, Editor-in-Chief of Manitoba Business Magazine, “These awards are for Manitoba-based companies that have demonstrated success through sound management practices in maintaining and growing a company.”

Excellence in Leadership Award
HED, along with 11 other Manitoba based companies, has been named as a recipient of the "Excellence in Leadership Award", as selected by the Board of Directors and Awards Selection Committee of the Human Resource Management Association of Manitoba (HRMAM). HED was presented with a bronze award in recognition of recent changes to our Intranet, which serves as a good example of a human resource program or practice which 'enhances our ability to engage (retain) its employees'.

Award of Excellence
The Manitoba Hotel Association received an award from an international group of hotel associations for best membership program. The award recognizes the MHA’s successful self-insurance based program with HED, which launched on March 1, 2004. The Award of Excellence was bestowed by the International Society of Hotel Association Executives (ISHAE) at their annual convention in December 2004. It is the first time an association outside the U.S. has received such an award.
