Insurance Representative - Personal Lines
Head Office - Winnipeg, MB
The Insurance Representative is responsible for providing professional sales and service for automobile (Autopac), habitational,
travel health, agriculture and musical instrument insurance to clients and/or prospective clients of HED and HED sales staff for the assigned book of business.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous homeowner insurance required
- Minimum General Agent Level 1 License in the province assigned
- Minimum high school diploma with college or University degree an asset
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a superior ability to interact with others
(i.e. clients, underwriters, adjusters)
- Previous customer service experience
- Superior communications skills both verbal and written (i.e. telephone
and written etiquette; proven ability to effectively handle difficult clients and situations)
- Ability to work independently on assigned duties
- Organized
- Solid background in operation of a Personal Computer and can be trained on the AS400 system to complete tasks assigned
- Completion or enrollment in CAIB or equivalent IIC courses an asset
- AUTOPAC IWS Certification with completion of SRE course an asset
- Fluency in both English and French languages an asset

Loss Prevention Analyst

The Loss Prevention Analyst is responsible for providing Loss Prevention services for the Commercial Insurance Department, including physical risk inspections, site surveys, preparation of reports, risk analyses, site diagrams and reviewing and analyzing claims.
The prime focus of the position is:
- Inspection services of Commercial Businesses
- Client consultation with respect to loss prevention and risk improvement measures
- Completion of Boeckh building evaluations and technical reports for insured properties
Skills and Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of experience demonstrating an appropriate level of technical expertise in loss prevention
- University/College degree preferred
- Proficient knowledge and skill level with Microsoft Office
- Service oriented with proven customer service skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills

Application Developer

The Application Developer is
responsible for developing and maintaining GUI client server applications,
creating and maintaining applications that integrate in a multi-platform
environment, providing ad hoc reporting for business applications,
troubleshooting existing production applications, and working with users to
determine programming requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of programming/analysis in any
GUI development tools
- Exposure to a 4th GL such as Visual Lansa, Visual Basic, Java, PowerBuilder
or Delphi (preference will be given to individuals with Visual Lansa experience)
- Experience developing for multi-platform environment and integrating between
the environments
- Experience developing GUI business applications
- Experience working with relational databases
- Working knowledge of web services (understanding of Service Oriented
Architecture patterns)
- Must be a team player with good communication skills
- iSeries (AS400), RPG and Web application experience would also be an asset
